HTR Online Certification Course Syllabus:
The HTR Facilitator Certification training is made up of a total of six modules. Participants (i.e. Revolutionaries) participate in the training course online alongside fellow Revolutionaries from around the globe. Each module is aligned to both CASEL and JHU SEL competencies. If you are unable to tune-in live on the above days and times, we record each session so that you are able to view the content for each Module in your own time. We acknowledge the busy schedules and overwhelming workload facing educators and want to provide you with this information in a way that supports and honors you as an individual but also the community in which you are serving.
Module 1 – Revolutionize Connection
Module Objective: Revolutionaries will be able to apply social support research through an experiential learning opportunity.
CASEL Standards: Self Awareness and Social Awareness
JHU Standards: Revolutionaries will be able to reflect on challenges that affect their work as an educator, understand the links between stress and physical health and emotional wellness, and discuss the brain’s role in managing stress and fostering resilience.
Module 2 – Revolutionize Self-Care & Wellness
Module Objective: Revolutionaries will be able to prioritize self-care and wellness as leaders of the HTR movement
CASEL Standards: Self-Awareness and Self-Management
JHU Standards: Revolutionaries will be able to explain the importance of controlled breathing in relaxation and examine how to incorporate practices into their work with children and staff
Module 3 – Revolutionize Relationships
Module Objective: Revolutionaries will be able to foster human connection around their HTR meeting through the Human Centered Design Process.
CASEL Standards: Social Awareness
JHU Standards: Revolutionaries will be able to explore how to involve coworkers in stress-reduction activities.
Module 4 – Revolutionize Community
Module Objective: Revolutionaries will be able to deconstruct the components of a HTR meeting and facilitate their first HTR meeting
CASEL Standards: Social Awareness and Relationship Skills
JHU Standards: Revolutionaries will be able to understand the ways in which self- statements facilitate a relaxation response and identify benefits associated with gratitude.
Module 5 – Revolutionize Support
Module Objective: Revolutionaries will be able to build relationships with HTR participants and strengthen their ability as facilitators by evaluating and classifying group dynamics within the HTR meeting
CASEL Standards: Relationship Skills
JHU Standards: Revolutionaries will be able to describe the impact of emotional states on the individual and relationships.
Module 6 – Revolutionize Capacity for Change
Module Objective: Revolutionaries will be able to expand the impact of their HTR meeting into the broader education community
CASEL Standards: Responsible Decision Making and Self-Awareness
JHU Standards: Revolutionaries will be able to explain the role of thinking as an influencer of feelings and behaviors.
Learning Outcomes
What can participants expect to learn from your training?
Participants will learn how Happy Teacher Revolution can support teachers’ mental health and wellness and discuss topics relating to the social-emotional learning of educators. Participants will learn how to initiate support groups in their own community as part of the larger Happy Teacher Revolution international movement. Participants will be able to connect to a network of fellow educators globally who are initiating support group meetings and spearheading the wellness movement in their own unique region.
As a result of receiving this training, participants will be able to:
- Define the mission of Happy Teacher Revolution and why it is important
- Explain how living a complete happy life runs alongside the ability of educators to form authentic relationships with students, thus empowering teachers to stay in the classroom because they feel emotionally supported and fulfilled
- Initiate teacher wellness support groups in their local community
- Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of Happy Teacher Revolution meetings as a tool for professionally developing the social-emotional learning of fellow educators

We offer both online professional development options as well as in-person professional development depending on the unique needs of your community.
Our professional development services provide participants with the certification necessary to facilitate Happy Teacher Revolution meetings in-person in their own community and thus become an official “Revolutionary”. Our team of experts designed our professional development programming in alignment with both Social-Emotional Standards as well as Trauma-Informed Practices.
